The Tablet Wars wage on, and based
on what I’m seeing from Microsoft, I think they will easily take the lead. Information has been leaked from Microsoft about its new “Digital Journal” named, the Courier, and seems to be set for launch in the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year. Although Microsoft has not officially announced the Courier, sources seem to be reliable about the product and its very unique features.
The Courier will function mainly as a “digital journal” and probably serves as Microsoft’s e-book reading device. Its also designed to be super portable:
- Less than an inch thick
- Weighs a little over a pound
- Is not much bigger than a 5×7 photo when closed (Super Small)
Plus:
- Built-in Handwriting Recognition
- Pen based interface for writing and drawing
- Built-in Camera (iPad doesn’t have a camera)
- Headphone Jack for media playback
Instead of Windows 7, the Courier is rumored to be built on Tegra 2 (Click here for info on NVIDIA’s Tegra 2) and runs on the same OS as the Zune HD, Pink and Windows CE6.
Check out the cool video below. Its a MUST SEE:

This is really cool. I think microsoft can capture the market with this. The iPad is crap.
I agree Jake. The iPad was really disappointing. Microsoft is definitely pushing some competition.

Wow, it is just amazing how technology changes so much. I am a diehard Apple fan, but this new gadget looks a lot better than the iPad.
The battle has begun!

It has begun indeed.
I’m not normally a fan of Microsoft’s mobile products, but if the courier is anything they claim it to be, I will definitely buy one.
Wow! I think I want one. I think I need one.
