OVERVIEW
The Company Journalist/Copywriter works under the guidance of the Director of Creative Operations to collect, write and edit search-optimized content for blog posts, case studies, company websites, e-books, presentations and marketing materials. The Company Journalist/Copywriter works together with the Visual Designer to produce all content generated for both internal and external communications by the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run company newsroom
- Aggressively seek out, capture and write stories, thoughts and opinions that can be used for blog posts, Tweets and status updates by sitting in on meetings, brainstorming sessions and daily conversations.
- Conduct raw interviews with company staff (written/audio/video)
- Write, edit and publish Blog posts
- Write, edit and publish E-book chapters
- Assist in the development of the company content strategy/publishing calendar
- Assist with company communications events (Meetup Groups/Tradeshows/Conferences/Lunch-And-Learns)
- Post social status updates and tweets.
- Submit articles to various social news and bookmarking sites such as Digg, Delicious, Reddit, StumbleUpon, etc.
EDUCATION
Must possess and demonstrate great copy writing and social media experience. Degree: Journalism/Marketing/Communications Preferred (Not required)
SKILLS
- Extensive knowledge of the latest blogging, social media and SEO tools including:
- Copywriting
- WordPress
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Powerpoint)
- Twitter and Facebook
- Blogging statistics and amateur influencer tools
- Google Analytics and WebMaster Tools, keyword optimizers, etc.
OTHER
A portfolio of samples demonstrating the defined responsibilities.
